President-elect Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr names five more incoming cabinet appointees following just last week when he named most cabinet members involved in his economic team.
Incoming Press Secretary, Trixie Angeles, made the announcement at a press briefing in Mandaluyong City. The said nominees were chosen “generally for their experience in public service and proven service records”
Department of Tourism(DOT)–Christina Frasco, Liloan, Cebu Mayor, Frasco was named top performing mayor in Central Visayas. Frasco is a lawyer, professor, and businesswoman, she served as the spokesperson for Sara Duterte, daughter of President Rodrigo Duterte, during the election campaign.
Department of Budget and Management (DBM)–Amenah Pangandaman, She served as assistant secretary in the DBM and was appointed undersecretary and concurrent director of the budget technical bureau in 2018. Pangandahan has over two decades of policy development in finance expertise.
Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD)–Filipino news anchor and radio and television broadcaster, Erwin Tulfo, brother of Senator elect-Raffy Tulfo, has been doing social work for the past 30 years according to Angeles. “He is known for his involvement in covering and helping Filipinos here and abroad through his social programs and partnerships with other organizations,”
Department of Information and Communications Technology–Lawyer Ivan John Uy, “an expert in technology law (and) well-experienced in information technology project management.” says Trixie Angeles.
Chief of Presidential Management Staff–former Manila representative Ma. Zenaida Angping, has served as a congresswoman in Manila’s third congressional district for nine years. She is also a member of the Marcos Jr. transition team. Angeles says Angping “comes with the professional experience in the fields of public service and administration and international relations and diplomacy.”
According to Angeles, PBBM is also eyeing outgoing president Rodrigo Duterte PRRD, as drug czar under the Marcos administration, however the Marcos camp have yet to send an invitation to PRRD.
