The surge of COVID-19 is still on the plate. And one of the most essential step that every Filipino must do is to boost their immunity against the virus by being vaccinated. Now that the Department of Health is allowing the A3 group to take a vaccine, here are some most frequently asked questions and corresponding answers.

 

Who are included in A3 Group?

It includes 18-59 years old with controlled comorbidities.

 

Controlled Comorbidities means?

Those people who:

- Have no symptoms

- Had no attacks, admissions or changes in medication for the past 3 months

- Have a stable vital signs

- Have no symptoms

- Not hospitalized

 

Who should be prioritized among those who has controlled comorbidities from ages 18-59?

- Cancer or malignancy

- Diabetes

- Obesity

- Cerebrovascular disease

- Chronic liver disease

- Chronic respiratory disease

- Hypertension

- Cardiovascular disease

- Chronic kidney disease

- Neurologic disease

- Tuberculosis and chronic respiratory tract infection

- Immunodeficiency state

 

Can other comorbidities not included above be also categorized under A3?

 Yes. However, there’s a need to prioritized those who has a higher risk of getting severe COVID-19 symptoms.

 

Who among A3 needs to have a medical clearance from their physician?

- Autoimmune disease

- Cancer/ malignancy

- Undergoing steroid treatment

- Patients with poor prognosis/ bed-ridden

- Human Immunodeficiency Virus

Where will I register for vaccination?

Every Filipino under A3 group should register on their LGUs (or barangay) based on the address of their:

  • Permanent or current address
  • Workplace

What other document should I bring?

An original government-issued identification card for verification of identity.  Any ID from the following:

- PRC license

- Driver's license

- UMID

- PhilHealth ID

- Passport

Should pregnant women be vaccinated?

Yes. According to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, pregnant women may receive COVID-19 vaccine. It can protect them from any symptoms of the virus. Moreover, a conversation with their physician might help.
