For the past months, community lockdown across the globe has been implementing to prevent the further spread of COVID-19, and evidently, we are seeing a lot of reports of how this measure has left a positive effect on the environment—cleaner air due to less road mobility and economic activities.

The notable drop in air pollution somehow serves as a success amid the health crisis, but, it’s only in the air. How about water and energy consumption, and emissions of other substances, which also contribute to the damage of nature once exceed?

This pandemic, eco-warriors have been firmly standing on their mission to protect the environment, to be a dedicated eco-friendly citizen of the earth amidst a global crisis. Yes, you can still live and imbibe the ideology of sustainability at home—we all can be an eco-friendly warrior during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Here’s how you can help protect our environment at home:

YES TO WATER CONSERVATION

We are all obliged to wash our hands as a general protocol this pandemic but we all must put into our minds to conserve water.

Always remember to turn off the faucet when you are brushing teeth and scrubbing your hands to save water while washing, in this simple step we can save water and at the same time, our money for paying water bills.

Remember to switch off all the appliances and lights when not in use to make sure you are not wasting energy. Try it to make it a habit every day that you’re not doing it just for yourself but also for the planet earth.

REDUCE PLASTIC WASTE AT HOME

One of the major crises we are facing today is plastic pollution. It is a major concern in the environment and seen as a threat to catastrophic devastation in human existence.

Environmentalists urge everyone to embrace the “reuse, reduce, and recycle” process to somehow eliminate the increasing number of plastic waste.

At home, you may reuse your old jars, avoid cellophane-wrapped products, and use tea strainers instead of teabags.

Make it a daily habit peeps!

USE LESS PAPER IF POSSIBLE

Papers are by-product produced from trees, it means whenever we purchase or use more papers, more trees are being cut simultaneously.

Since schools are halted, this is the best time to just pack your school supplies and not use it for unimportant purposes—use less paper if possible.

BE MORE ECO-FRIENDLY WITH FOOD AND GROCERIES

With everyone who’s on the go of doing grocery for the family, make a favor for the planet earth to ditch plastics and make a note asking for a limited plastic packaging to lessen the use of materials that can harm the environment.

Support organic local products in your community to help businesses as well as the environment.

We can do more.

We can still do our responsibility to our mother nature despite the effects of the pandemic.

Let's go green at home!
