Senator Imee Marcos' joke towards Karen Davila during an interview went viral online
By Norman Son Adriano 02 Jun 2022 995

Journalist Karen Davila and Marcos Jr. elder sister Senator Imee Marcos trend online after a clip of  exchange of greetings during an interview went viral on social media.

On her show ANC Headstart, Davila opened the program by welcoming and congratulating the Senator on which she responded, "It's nice to see you're still here in the Philippines. Akala ko magma-migrate ka 'pag nanalo ang Marcos". The journalist then replied with a big smile "Hoping always for the best for the country."

There are no official claims or reports before that Davila will leave the country once Marcos Jr. is elected president.

A short clip of the conversation circulated and was spread on different social media platforms. Supporters of the Marcoses  laughed about the incident saying Davila was burned by the joke mentioned by the Senator. On the other note, some netizens slammed Senator Marcos for being straight up rude and unprofessional.

Karen Davila posted on her Instagram account by setting the record straight telling the Senator made an apology right after and all is good between the two of them.

"Sen Imee Marcos on #ANCHeadstart joked about me still being in the PH after her brother’s victory to which I replied…

“ALWAYS HOPING FOR THE BEST FOR THE COUNTRY” Yan po ang sagot ko.

Napikon po ba ako? Hindi po. Sen Imee Marcos also sent me an apology by text after the show. All good. Salamat!"

Hours later,  Davila shared another post on her FB and Twitter, in which she stated, "In victory, resist the temptation to gloat. Graciousness is a class act."
