The camp of President-elect Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos has announced two more appointed members of the cabinet after a two-hour meeting at President's Marcos headquarters in Mandaluyong City on June 8 was carried out. One of the two new members is Professor Clarita Carlos, chosen as the new National Security Adviser to the president. Carlos who is a retired U.P. professor became a well-known figure on social media during the 2022 election campaign period where she was branded  'terror' when she sat as a panelist during the SMNI presidential debate; the lone debate President Marcos has attended.

Carlos is a former UP political science professor.  She also became the president of the National Defense College of the Philippines. Moreover, she has already authored and has written books and academic papers, ranging from governance, politics, foreign policy and security. She is also regarded as a political scientist.

Presidential son and Ilocos elected representative Sandro Marcos who was also present at the meeting took to his Facebook to congratulate Carlos.

"Congratulations to our new National Security Adviser Prof. Clarita Carlos! It was an honor meeting you earlier ma’am. To having many more engaging conversations on policy and the state of geopolitics 🙌🏾" he captioned.

Aside from Carlos, the camp has also named ABONO Partylist Representative Conrado Estrella as one of the new appointees. He will serve as the head of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR). Estrella became one of the Deputy Speakers of House of Representative in the 18th Congress. He is also a former representative in the 6th district of Pangasinan.

In a released statement, the camp officially announced the acceptance of Professor Carlos and Representative Estrella.

"They accepted the offer to become new members of the Cabinet."
