Incoming Executive Secretary Vic Rodriguez confirmed on June 23 that President-elect Ferdinand 'Bongbong Marcos picked former Philippine Airlines president Jaime Bautista as the new chief of the Department of Transportation. Bautista is set to replace outgoing secretary Arthur Tugade from his post on June 30.
The incoming DOTr secretary served as the president of the country's flag carrier Philippine Airlines for 13 years and retired in 2019. Overall, he has spent 26 years in the company in various executive positions.
