Delubyo Ng Mga Commuters

In the Philippines, commuters have numerous difficulties on a daily basis, particularly in urban areas such as Metro Manila. One of the persistent issues in the Philippines is public transportation, which keeps getting worse despite efforts by both the public and private sectors to find a solution.

An abundance of traffic

The issue of chaotic traffic is one of the commuters' issues. Millions of Filipinos are disturbed daily by the slow-moving vehicles. The journey took up a significant amount of time that could have been spent on their relationships or jobs. In addition to the large number of vehicles, bad roads and inadequate planning also contribute to heavy traffic volumes.

Lack of efficient transit

The other big issue is a lack of good public transit. There are frequent issues with the MRT and LRT that greatly frustrate commuters. The number of buses and jeepneys available is insufficient to accommodate all of the commuters' needs, particularly during rush hour when these vehicles are frequently involved in accidents.

Long lines

Another problem that commuters face is the long waits at bus, jeep, and train terminals. The lines here can last for many hours during peak hours, particularly at the main terminals. Those who must wait for benches are made to feel extremely uncomfortable and fatigued by the lack of suitable facilities.

The fare's increase

For some, even with inexpensive options like buses and jeeps, they are not as affordable. Fares have increased as a result of rising fuel prices and other operating expenses. The fare represents a significant income drop for people who do not work for a high wage, particularly if they reside in a rural area. This is only one of the many reasons why commuters feel obliged to walk in order to save money on fares.

Risks to safety

One of the other major concerns is commuter safety. Public transportation is the scene of numerous crimes, including kidnapping, theft, and other crimes that can be committed while traveling. Furthermore, cars in bad condition—such as those that are slow or longer or have defective parts—are getting closer to or endangering the lives of their passengers.

The effort for a solution

Despite this, attempts are being made to solve the issues that commuters face. A few of these are government initiatives, such as adding bike lanes, fixing roads, and expanding the train service. In our country, commuting involves many trials and sacrifices. Many of them continue in spite of the difficulties they encounter because it is the only way they can connect with their goals and take care of their everyday necessities. To raise the standard of living for every Filipino, it is crucial that the pertinent authorities collaborate in order to identify a more practical solution to these issues.
