Dubbed as the “oldest active actress” in Philippine television, Anita Linda, has passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, due to old age.
The legendary actress was 95.
The news came from director Adolf Alix Jr., who directed her films "Adela" and "Circa,” which was confirmed by Anita's daughter Francesca Lake-Legaspi.
The director also posted a photo with the legendary actress on Instagram.
“This is a very sad day for me. I am trembling as I am gathering my thoughts...,” Alix wrote in the caption.
The industry is grieving the loss of yet another film legend. Her friends and co-workers in the industry have started to extend their condolences to Anita’s family on social media.
It's rare for an actress to find a second (third? fourth?) wave of career resurgence when she's already in her 80s. But Anita Linda surely loved acting so much she continuously gave us great performances up until her 90s.

In June last year, she was honored by the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) with an achievement award for her contributions to cinema as an actress and a mentor.
She has starred in numerous award-winning films like “Lola,” Alix’s “Adela," and “Ang Babae sa Bubungang Lata” for which she won the FAMAS Award for Best Supporting Actress at age of 74, making her the oldest actress to do so.
Among her other best-known projects were Lino Brocka’s 'Hellow, Soldier,' Mike de leon’s 'Sister Stella L,' and Brillante Mendoza’s 'Lola.'
REST IN PEACE, ANITA.
