The Skyway Stage 3 is proving itself useful in alleviating traffic and decongesting for the motorists in the main roads of Metro Manila as San Miguel Corporation (SMC) boss Ramon Ang has announced that Skyway Stage 3 has been partially opened to the public starting December 29, 2020.
While passing through the 18-kilometer elevated expressway is free at the moment, San Miguel Corporation will begin to charge fees on February 1.
A document published by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) shows the proposed price list for Skyway Stage 3 toll, which could be as low as P110, to P274.
The document shows that those driving the short southern section of the Skyway 3 (i.e. from Buendia to Quirino/Plaza Dilao/Plaza Azul), the proposed toll would be P110.
While those passing through the northern segment of Skyway 3 (i.e. Quezon Ave to NLEX/Balintawak), motorists are expected to pay a toll of P133.
The proposed fee to cruise the full length of the Skyway 3 is at P274.

San Miguel said the 18-kilometer Skyway 3 cost P66 billion to build, which was 63 percent higher than the project cost approved by the TRB in 2014, and 165 percent higher than the project cost approved in 2012.
The company said the increase in project cost was due to changes made in the toll road’s design to address right-of-way and utilities relocation issues, as well as substantial delays in the implementation of the project.
Skyway 3 had a soft opening on Dec. 29 last year, and will be free to use until Jan. 29.
The new toll road is said to reduce travel time between the country’s two main expressways to as little as 15 minutes from around 2 hours using other roads passing through Metro Manila.
The construction of Skyway 3 started in 2014, but the completion date was postponed several times due to delays and issues.
Skyway 3 is among the road projects spearheaded by the Department of Public Works and Highways as a possible solution to the traffic congestion in Metro Manila.
The proposed toll rate is still awaiting the final approval of the TRB.
