Sip a New Classic: CHAGEE Launches Apple English Breakfast Tea in Partnership with Tate
By Press Release 08 Jul 2026 82

CHAGEE Philippines invites tea lovers to sip a new classic with the launch of Apple English Breakfast tea on 3 July 2026, a new limited-edition flavour and merchandise collection in partnership with one of the most esteemed cultural institutions in the UK, Tate. Inspired by three iconic still-life artworks from Tate's collection, the launch brings together a story of tea, apples, and art that spans cultures and centuries.

Two Traditions, One New Classic

Tea and apple are two of the most enduring symbols in human history. Tea originated thousands of years ago in China and grew into a daily ritual across the world — from the tea houses in East Asia to breakfast tables of Britain. Similarly, the apple has been cultivated for thousands of years across Europe and Asia, and has appeared across centuries of Western art.

Apple English Breakfast Tea is CHAGEE's way of honouring both traditions at once. Familiar, but made for today.

A Tea Blend That Crosses Continents

The tea base is built on five distinct teas, selected and blended with precision. Assam from India forms the backbone: full-bodied, malty, and strong. Lapsang Souchong from Wuyishan, Fujian adds its signature pine-smoked depth, complemented by the velvety richness of Yunnan Golden Pekoe. Four Seasons Spring from Taiwan contributes floral smoothness and balance, with Highland Qilan from Fujian lifting the whole blend with a clear, lingering orchid fragrance. Each tea is roasted and processed separately, gently brought together under controlled temperature and humidity, so their aromas integrate naturally without competition.

The apple is Red Fuji sourced from Shandong, China. It is processed through whole-fruit cold extraction, skin and flesh together, with no added water, sugar, or preservatives. The juice is then absorbed into the tea leaves using a low-temperature infusion process, followed by vacuum drying to lock in its flavour. The result is a tea that infuses apples into a blend seamlessly.

Culture has always travelled through food and drink, and tea is probably the best example of that in history. With Apple English Breakfast Tea, we wanted to honour all of those journeys in a single cup, creating something that people from every country and culture can genuinely connect with,” said Christopher Tiong, General Manager CHAGEE Philippines.

A Partnership Rooted in a Shared Purpose

CHAGEE’s one-year partnership with Tate goes beyond the collection itself. CHAGEE is supporting Tate’s Paper and Photography Conservation Work, helping to fund the physical care and preservation of works in Tate’s national collection, so that future generations can continue to experience them.

The partnership reflects something both CHAGEE and Tate share: a belief that culture should be living, accessible, and passed on.

"At Tate Enterprises, we're always looking for meaningful ways to extend engagement with Tate's collection beyond our galleries. This partnership has allowed CHAGEE to create a product range that thoughtfully brings together art, design and everyday ritual, inspired by Henri Fantin-Latour's A Plate of Apples, Paul Cézanne's Still Life with Water Jug and Mark Gertler's The Basket of Fruit, from Tate's collection. We are excited to see audiences discover these artworks in a new context and through a unique cultural experience.” says Rosey Blackmore, Director of Licensing & Merchandise, Tate Enterprises

Apple English Breakfast Tea is available starting 3 July 2026 at CHAGEE stores and on the CHAGEE app. For more information, visit CHAGEE Philippines FB, IG, TikTok, or download the CHAGEE App and join the conversation at #SipANewClassic.
