As the COVID-19 pandemic still continues to pester our country, most of us are afraid go out and enjoy summer or to somehow beat the heat with different activities that we could do; going to the beach, reaching the cold peak of a mountain, we even miss the air-conditioned malls. And, it gets a little irritating to be staying at home in the middle of the suffocating heat caused by the weather.
Good thing we have collated a list to somehow help us cope with hot weather.
Here are the 6 tips on how to keep it cool in hot weather:
Block off the sunlight
Use curtains or blinds to block sunlight from coming in through your windows. Sunlight produces heat when it comes into contact with solid objects or even air molecules.
Turn on your electric fans
Electric fans can move the air to give you a soothing breeze. But always make sure to turn on the electric fan only whenever someone is in the room to conserve energy and money.
Open your windows at night
Oftentimes, nights are cooler than days. So, if possible, keep your windows open at night to let the cooler breeze in. But be sure of your security first.
Keep yourself hydrated
Do not forget to keep yourself hydrated. Drinking water can help in keeping your body hydrated and your body temperature regulated. Another way to stay hydrated is to eat fruits and vegetables that are water-rich.
Wear light clothes
Dark-colored clothes can absorb and store heat. So during summer, it is advised to wear light-colored clothes that are made of cotton to let your body breathe well.
Take a cold shower
If the heat is utterly intolerable, you can take a cold shower during day and before you go to sleep. This can help for your body to cool down and feel refreshed.
