Have you guys been to the much-awaited Art exhibit in the country? Nah! you truly miss half of your artsy-life if you just let this 3-day Art fair pass without immersing yourself into something meaningful and deep; don’t worry gals, we got your back! Here's what you missed at Art Fair Philippines 2020:

Jellyfish Kisses Sewing Club

Truly, this is one of the colorful sights in the fair. This exhibit lets the people sew scraps of fabric for a dress that will be showcased at the Soft Punk Spring Summer 2020 as stated on the exhibit notes.

The Soft Punk Spring/Summer 2020 was inspired by Anton Belardo’s background in fashion.

It is a collaborative work for anyone who wanders in his space. His main concept for this installation is to create a “closet” as a “safe space” for people who struggle to fully embrace themselves.

Art Fair PH/Projects

These never before seen pieces were presented by BPI, ArtFairPH/Projects and only commissioned to this year’s fair.

As published in the catalog, Norman Crisologo, the exhibit curator, said that he proposed a radically different way for the viewers to access the art.

Nikki Luna’s Look at her

Nikki Luna’s 2018 piece is one of this year’s most photographed pieces for its provocative message, “As long as there many beautiful women, there will be more rape cases”

This intriguing creation from an artist and activist has made noise in the opening day of the Art Fair Philippines giving the people an invitation to take a self-portrait as it aims.

Giatay

This year, Art Fair Philippines has its first-ever Bisaya exhibitors whose talent are evident representing the art from Visayas and Mindanao. 23 artists have team-up to show their creativity in the form of art.

ArtFairPH/Film

Art Fair Philippines has dedicated a new section for moving images this year.

It was dubbed as The Unconfined Cinema. It is also a celebration of Filipino Cinema’s centennial.

Dukot Survival

One of the most controversial displays for this year’s Art Fair Philippines is none other than the ‘Kaning tutong’ or the burnt rice found at the bottom of a cooking pot.

This artwork is cost P90,000.00 by Visayan artist Manny Montelibano and it  was described by 1335 Mabini as “a reflection of how people evolve by adapting to the demands of society.”

February, which is National Arts Month, is definitely the much-awaited time in the country for Art Fair Philippines wherein artists, curators, exhibitors, and art enthusiasts unite for a wonderful movement.

A cause where can they express themselves through their creations which give us a new level of perspectives and depth on how we perceive things.

This three-day event, which ran from February 21-23, 2020, has transformed 4 level car park of Makati City’s link into a whole new world of the contemporary art scene.

Truly, the annual and much-awaited Art fair Philippines has become a tradition in the Metro which attracts thousands of visitors each year to see exhibits and experience arts in different forms.
