Accio Potterheads, get ready to explore Hogwarts like never before!
‘Hogwarts Legacy’, a new Harry Potter open-world game has been revealed to the public. Warner Bros. announced the news on Wednesday as part of Sony’s PlayStation 5 price reveal live stream event.
The game developed by Avalanche and published by Warner Bros. Games under the Portkey Games label is set in the 1800s at the iconic Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry from the book series that puts players at the center of their own wizarding world adventure.
Players will experience life as a student at Hogwarts as they live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world, according to a press release of Warner Bros.

On the press release, part of the journey to the wizarding world, players will also “grow their magical abilities by mastering spells, brewing potions and taming fantastic beasts,” adding that the game will include familiar locations like the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village.
In a blog posted on Sony’s website, Avalanche shared that they contributed new content to the beloved Wizarding World franchise.
“Developing Hogwarts Legacy at Avalanche is a team endeavor. Every department understands that immersive storytelling works best when it is woven throughout the DNA of the project,” said Adrian Ropp, Avalanche’s head story.
“What’s more, we take seriously the responsibility of contributing new content to the beloved Wizarding World franchise.”
In other Harry Potter news, author and series creator J. K. Rowling recently went under fire for her controversial tweets in relation to gender and transsexuality, and railing against hormone treatments by calling them "the new antidepressants." Also, Rowling’s latest book, ‘Troubled Blood’ has also attracted criticism for its conflation between cross-dressing and deviance.

Hogwarts Legacy will be coming in 2021 for PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, PlayStation®4 Pro, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One consoles, and PC.
