JK Rowling receives backlash over new “transphobic” book announcement
By AJ Virtuz 15 Sep 2020 666

Harry Potter author JK Rowling again has received backlash from the online users and different groups and this time is after her announcement of her new allegedly transphobic novel.

The new book, entitled “Troubled Blood”, will be written under her pen name Robert Galbraith, and is said to be the sequel to the Cormoran Strike detective series.

It can still be recalled that a few months before the novelist’s book release, fans and social media folks lambasted Rowling, over her controversial remarks about the trans community, as she tweeted on June 6, about and talked about “people who menstruate,” apparently amplifying issue with how the tweet she retweeted did not use the word women. “‘People who menstruate.’ I’m sure there used to be a word for those people. Someone help me out. Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?,” she said.

That initial tweet JK posted garnered a lot of comments, but Rowling did not stop and posted another tweet to justify her first statement, saying “If sex isn’t real, there’s no same-sex attraction. If sex isn’t real, the lived reality of women globally is erased.”

Rowling also said how she loves the trans people.

“I know and love trans people, but erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives. It isn’t hate to speak the truth,”

However, the netizens are never forgetful and declared her "dead" by sending #RIPJKRowling to the top of the Twitter trending charts worldwide.

Troubled Blood tells the story of a cisgender male serial killer who dresses as a woman to murder victims.
