BLACKPINK — one of the K-pop phenomenal acts — is finally making its comeback to the music scene, nearly after two years. YG announced on July 6.
According to BLACKPINK, the group will release new music in August, which will mark their first new project as a group in nearly two years after releasing their full-length material ‘The Album’ in October 2020. The exciting part? There has been music from the members, including solo music from members Rosé and Lisa, who both previously dropped singles that charted across the world and the Billboard charts in 2021.
YG said BLACKPINK are in the final stages of recording their new album, and are planning to start filming a music video this month.
The K-pop group also shared that they will embark on a world tour later this year, marking their first time hitting the road since wrapping up their ‘In Your Area’ world tour in early 2020 just before COVID lockdowns.
“A lot of music in BLACKPINK’s style has been prepared with much effort for a long time. BLACKPINK will also embark on the largest-ever world tour for a K-pop girl group by the end of this year alongside the comeback, in order to expand their communication and interaction with fans all around the world,” YG said, according to SBS News.
