By Jhoemz Vercide 09 Nov 2020 860

You better prep up your tissues peeps, this is a tearjerker video!

Another one proud Filipino moment is just rounding up our screens as Disney UK launched its first-ever Christmas advertisement and it's Pinoy-themed!

The three-minute animation is a short advert with a Filipino storyline and was released on the Disney UK Facebook page on November 9 in support of the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Titled "From Our Family To Yours," the short film tells the story of a grandmother, her granddaughter, and the family traditions that connect them through the years.

The video begins in 1940, in a city lit in colorful Filipino star-shaped Christmas lanterns called parol. We see a young girl receiving a Mickey Mouse stuffed toy from a loved one.

Fast forward to 2005, the main character is referred to as Lola, the Filipino word for grandmother. She shares her beloved stuffed toy with her granddaughter, as well as her parol-making skills, and we watch as the two grow older together—along with the much loved Mickey Mouse.

According to a press release shared by Disney Philippines, the Christmas campaign by Disney EMEA is in collaboration with children’s charity organization Make-A-Wish as they celebrate 40 years of their partnership.

Filipino netizens were quick to notice traditions such as the honoring gesture of pagmamano and the festive Christmas parol.

Many felt nostalgic and took on social media to share and celebrate this wonderful representation of the season:

"From Our Family To Yours" is currently airing across TV and Digital plus Disney’s own channels in 26 countries in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, as well as Australia, New Zealand, North America, and parts of Asia.

Well, without being bias, we all know that Pinoy Christmas is and will always be the best!

Maligayang Pasko po!
