A year ago, I was in this beautiful place called Iloilo. It was my annual travel with my friends, and we definitely had a great time. A month ago, we were supposed to be wandering the breathtaking islands of Palawan and a few months from now, should’ve been my first travel outside of the country, but pandemic happened and all of a sudden, we are all stuck in our homes.
This is definitely a sad year for people whose life depends on travelling. May you be a regular traveler or a person working on a travel agency/institution, surely no one was prepared for the effect of the pandemic.
Cancelled flights and travels are such a bummer, but we must all do our part to contain the spreading of the virus. In short, we do not have much of a choice since majority of the flights were banned, and there very limited flights allowed as of the moment.
Since no one can say when and how this current situation will end, local airlines such as Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines offered several options to do with your cancelled flights:
Booked tickets brought from PAL that are either cancelled or affected by the travel ban could either be converted to a Travel voucher, rebooked/rerouted or refunded without penalties! Of course it comes with different terms and conditions, depending on your flight details. For more information, you can visit their link here.
If your tickets are bought online, you can easily make adjustments by visiting this link: myPAL Request Hub
Take note as well, that due to the observance of community quarantine, there are only selected Ticketing Offices that are open to serve the public.
On the other hand, be sure to get in touch with your travel agencies or third party websites, if your tickets were bought to the said entities.
Cebu Pacific offered options such as flight rebooking, storing of your ticket value as Travel Fund that is valid for 180 days and can be used within the next 12 months to book any Cebu Pacific flight or get your full refund. To process any of this, visit this link
The world is facing such challenging phase, and even though travelling might bring us much comfort, I would personally not encourage any travel for now. Even the idea of doing land travels to the nearby provinces seemed like a risk!
Instead, I want to focus my energy and travel funds into more important stuff such as my overall well-being and the welfare of my family. So as we try to get by and adapt into this new normal, let us remember that safety and health should be our priority. Virtual dates and get together should suffice for now!
