Unfortunately, Marcos Jr. will skip another presidential forum
By AJ Virtuz 03 Feb 2022 709

Bad news for the supporters, presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. is not attending his second major presidential interview “Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas 2022 Presidential Candidates Forum” on Friday, the broadcast media organization confirmed on Thursday., as he declined the biggest news organizations that make up the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP) because of “conflict of schedule.”

KBP sent invitations to all the presidential candidates like labor leader Leody de Guzman, Sen. Panfilo Lacson, former Senator Marcos, Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, Sen. Manny Pacquiao, and Vice President Leni Robredo. All accepted the invitation except for Marcos.

KBP President Herman Basbaño told DZMM TeleRadyo that the Marcos camp cited conflict of schedule for declining the invitation.

“Ang hindi nagtanggap ng ating imbitasyon is si former senator Bongbong Marcos. May letter naman sila declining the invitation, it was because of conflicts sa schedules nila,” Basbaño told DZMM.

This is the second time that Marcos Jr. is declining an independently-organized major forum, after GMA News’ presidential interviews hosted by veteran journalist Jessica Soho.

Basbaño said they had been preparing and sending out invitations since early December 2021.

Five presidential candidates will gather in a forum of KBP in partnership with CNN Philippines and other news networks on Friday, Feb. 4. The forum will be moderated by CNN Philippines anchor Rico Hizon and ABS-CBN's Karen Davila. The panel will be composed of journalists from Bombo Radyo, One News, TV5, and Far East Broadcasting Company.

The Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas 2022 Presidential Candidates Forum, which will not be a debate format, will air live at 9 a.m. on CNN Philippines and over 300 broadcast stations nationwide.
