UAAP Volleyball: Race to the remaining Finals seat begins NOW
By Norman Son Adriano 14 Jun 2022 925

After a morale-boosting sweep win against the fearless Adamson Lady Falcons during the play-offs round, Ateneo Blue Eagles  completes the Final Four cast of Women's Volleyball Season 84.

Go-to girl and scoring machine of Ateneo Faith Nisperos delivered once more as she poured 22 crucial points to help her team go straight to final four and claim their hard-earned seat. Middle blocker Alexis Miner, having back-to-back double scoring games, showed to be a reliable defensive and offensive player in front the court. Liberos, Dani Ravena and Roma Doromal took charge of the defense as they manned the floor superbly.

Now that the Blue Eagle are through to the step-ladder format semifinal round, they will now face the third seed Golden Tigresses who defeated them in the first round of elimination. Led by then Super Rookie and now a candidate for MVP Eya Laure, the Blue Eagles are in a tough job minimizing her power and scoring outputs.

On the  other hand, after a well-rest and a few days of preparation, the Golden Tigresses are looking forward to beating and taking revenge against the defending champions.

In season 81, UST ended their campaign heartbreakingly after a defeat in the Game 3 of the Finals against Ateneo; Eya Laure  was part of that line-up.

Now, the two will face once more today (6:30 pm) at the SM Mall of Asia Arena to open the semi-final round. Winner of this match will battle the second seed DLSU Lady Spikers who have a twice-to-beat advantage.

The NU Lady Bulldogs who are straight to the finals after an unblemished elimination record are now awaiting for their competitors for their 1st ever crown after 65 long years.
