Sweat It Out! Home Quarantine Work-outs to Start that Fitness Journey
By Aya Agustin 10 Jul 2020 789

Whether you are a gym rat or just a normal commuter going to work — being in quarantine for a long time had taken its toll on our physical and mental state. Long walks became long hours of sitting, and as much as we enjoy that, we know that’s not good for our bodies.

Exercising has its many benefits, not only physically, but mentally as well. According to Time, exercise is linked to less depression and it helps trigger the release of chemicals in the brain— serotonin, norepinephrine, endorphins, dopamine — that gives us a lighter mood. Let’s also stress out the fact that exercise makes your body and immune system stronger, that in times like these, is very important to have.

Since gyms are closed, many people have been resorting to virtual work-outs that they can do from the safety of their homes. We can also note an increase of newbies trying out work-outs for the first time.

Here are some of the virtual work-out pages that can help you can start that fitness journey!

  1. Your Local Gym or Fitness Instructors!

The fitness industry was hit really bad during the quarantine, not being operational for months now. Fitness workers have voiced out their struggles during these time, not being able to work for a living and without any assurance of when they will be back. With this, some gyms and individual fitness instructors are offering virtual training sessions so you can continue your fitness journey even at home. If you have a little money to spare, availing these virtual training sessions not only helps you stay fit, but also helps our friends working in the fitness industry.

Always remember to look for a work-out that fits you, as everybody has a different preference, and match it with a healthy diet (hey, it’s Nutrition Month anyways!) for maximum results.

Stay fit, stay safe, and stay at home!
