A dashcam video that circulated online shows  a white Toyota RAV4 with the plate number NCO 3781 hit a security guard who is manning the traffic in Mandaluyong. On the viral video, the driver not only hit the man once but twice, running him over without even checking his condition. The hit and run incident caught the attention of the furious netizens, making it a hot topic online.

The victim, who is identified as Christian Floralde, suffered wounds and abrasion caused by the incident.

It can be recalled that Senator-elect JV Ejercito showed his support effort to the victim by putting a Php 50,000 reward to whoever may lead to the arrest of the suspect. 

"ALERT: Putting up a P50,000 reward for any info regarding this evil and idiot driver who purposely ran over a traffic enforcer." 

Hours later, the senator confirmed the suspect's name; he is identified as Jose  Antonio Sanvicente. 

On June 15, Jose Antonio Sanvicente accompanied by his parents and lawyer at the Philippine National Police  headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City. He surrendered to Philippine National Police Chief Officer in Charge LtGen. Vicente Danao Jr. on Wednesday.

"My apologies sa nangyari, my apologies to Mr. Floralde at sa kanyang pamilya,” Sanvicente said in the press conference. 

According to Sanvicente, he really cannot clearly remember what happened during that moment and why he continued driving despite a person being run over. 

"Hindi ko na po talaga maalala kasi blur na since nung nangyari," he said.

On a statement by his legal attorney, Danny Macalino, he clarified that they do not condone the incident and emphasized that his client just panicked during the incident,

"Hindi niya gustong mangyari 'yung aksidente. Nagkataon lang natakot siya, nag-panic siya. Kami naman ang sinabi ko sa pamilya we do not condone the incident as reported on the viral media. Kailangan magpakita si Anton ng personal para mahayag niya ang totoong nangyari at saka mag-extend ng apology sa publiko," he explained.

Sanvicente will now undergo a preliminary investigation according to PNP as he is now facing charges of frustrated murder and violation of Article 275 of the Revised Penal Code or abandonment of persons in danger.
