Vice President and presidential aspirant Leni Robredo emphasized women leaders "shine" during crises, as she argued why voters should pick her over her rivals for the presidency in the May elections.

During The 2022 Presidential One-On-One Interviews with veteran host Boy Abunda that was streamed Wednesday, Robredo was given 60 seconds to explain why voters should not pick other presidential candidates.

On former Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.:

"Number one, sinungaling. Pangalawa, in the difficult moments, hindi siya nagpapakita."

On Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso:

"Hindi klaro iyong paninindigan sa maraming bagay."

On Sen. Panfilo "Ping" Lacson:

"Maraming salita, pero kulang sa on the ground na gawa."

On Sen. Manny Pacquiao:

"Ito malungkot, pero iyong kabutihan ng loob kasi sa atin hindi sapat."

When asked why she should be the next president, Robredo answered, “Ako, pinakita nitong krisis na ‘to and many other crises in the past na ang mga babaeng leader nagsha-shine during crisis."

"And ako, ipinakita ko ‘yan sa maraming trabaho namin dito sa OVP (Office of the Vice President). Marami kaming krisis na nalagpasan with flying colors," she added.

Meanwhile, Marcos' reacted to Robredo's "sinungaling" remark, saying that the former will not engage in "negative and hateful campaigning".

“What presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos is offering to the Filipino people is his unifying brand of leadership. He does not and will not engage in negative and hateful campaigning," Marcos Jr.’s chief-of-staff, Atty. Vic Rodriguez said.
