The past few weeks have been difficult for many Filipinos especially those who earn on a daily basis—no income, no food at all. It’s really hard to hear stories of anger and hopelessness.
Many are not satisfied with the urgency of the government with regards to the urgency of the government in addressing these social issues especially in the first weeks of the lockdown.
Well, thanks for the ones who initiated the move to extend the help to our kababayans—different groups, organizations, and yes, Pinoy celebrities and influencers have stepped up to help those who in need trying to fill the somewhat hole in the crisis.
These celebrities are really utilizing their voices and influences in this time of the pandemic outbreak, truly a wonderful purpose in giving back to the people. Here are some of them who raised fund and led a donation drive:
ANGEL LOCSIN
The DARNA we all love, Angel Locsin, is showing what real hero means to many Filipinos who have been loved and praised by her extensive efforts to really extend assistance to our frontliners.
She donated sleeping bags and tents for the welfare of medical workers who are risking their lives. Locsin has created the hashtag #UniTentWeStand to show her followers and donors the proceeds of the funds on her initiative.
Way to go Darna!
BEA ALONZO
One of the most talented actors of her generation, Bea Alonzo, is currently using her favorite hobby which is cooking to feed our frontliners.
In her Instagram post, she shared how grateful she was in preparing food for numbers of people.
What a sweet gesture indeed!
BELA PADILLA
One of the first celebrities who have taken an action to help Filipino workers is actress Bela Padilla, she initiated a donation drive for those who will not be able to earn this quarantine period such as taho, dirty ice cream vendors, and banana cue sellers.
Good job girl!
ANNE CURTIS
Despite the distance and limited movement due to pandemic outbreak, actress Anne Curtis who is currently in Australia right now with husband Erwan Heussaff has taken the challenge to help her fellow kababayan through jer her own project, Dream Machine, she donated alcohol, gloves, and other medical supplies to a various hospital in the Metro!
MAINE MENDOZA
The phenomenal star Maine Mendoza has used her social media accounts to extend to some pinoy workers who cannot report to work.

She started a "DoNation Drive," and pledged P1,000 each to her beneficiary households.

The pandemic outbreak didn’t stop the most famous influencer today, Mimiyuuuh, to help those who are in need.

The Youtube star has donated a truck full of snacks to Sitio San Roque in Quezon City In partnership with Universal Robina Corporation and Spark It.
The online media sensation has even led an online Zumba fundraiser in her Instagram live, all the proceeds were given to the urban poor community of Sitio San Roque in Quezon City.
Kudos to these some celebrities who have taken the challenge to help those who are in need. They may be living in a glamorous lifestyle but they still don’t forget to give back and share the blessings to others.
