Online E-numan: A New Way to Celebrate Friday Night-Outs During Quarantine
By AJ Virtuz 16 Jul 2020 1113

Friday night hangouts have been our way of relieving stress from the busy and tiring week. We got used to going out, drinking with our friends, going to cinemas to see a movie, having dinner with family and loved ones, or just go home after work to take a long rest. But due to coronavirus, we have to lie low from our typical night-outs to welcome the weekend.

It can really be upsetting to be stuck inside the house and get tired of the mundaneness of daily routine—waking up every morning, making your coffee, and begin to think when will all these come to an end, as you start to despair at the thought of many hours in a day you waste in just accomplishing your work inside the house and stare at the four walls of your room.

COVID-19 outbreak has been sucking the fun out of us since Philippines were placed under quarantine—with the same people we’ve been seeing every day, and with limited options for activity, entertainment and interaction. Although we should still be grateful that we are still able to work at home and pay our bills. But during times like these when we need our friends more than ever. Thanks to technology that we now have ways to catch up and have drinks without meeting them in flesh—Millennials and Gen Zs are calling it E-numan.

Lucky for you, we have listed down tips on how you can still celebrate E-numan and have an epic Friday Night-Outs with your circle during quarantine.

Choose your virtual meeting place

Again, with the help of technology, we can still end our weekends with e-numan whereas you can meet your friends by any virtual meeting platforms or softwares to have some chitchat and drinks – Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Facebook Messenger are the best example. Just set a time and date that work for everyone and you can now have a fun-filled drinking session.

Prepare your drinks

Since most parts in the country have already lifted the liquor ban, you can now head to the nearest convenient stores and groceries to buy your drinks – just make sure to wear face masks and use hand sanitizers upon entering the establishments. But if you don’t have time or still afraid to go out, there are some delivery services you may checkout. Boozy, (also available in Foodpanda) Winery.ph, Two Belgians, Vino.PH, San Miguel BeerAWC Philippines, and Wine Depot offer delivery options for the quarantined.

Dress to impress

Even though being stuck and working at home do not require us to dress up which is a good thing, you can be extra as you want by choosing what to wear for your e-numan. Being free to wear whatever you want to is another way to relieve the stress so debut your outfit that has been stored in your closet for months for an entertaining and enjoyable virtual night-out.

Prepare your playlist

Of course, the most needed in parties aside from drinks is music. Prepare that upbeat playlist to listen to during your virtual party. There are actually quite a lot of playlist in Spotify that you can find and play for your e-numan. Just make sure to put on your earphones because you don’t want to disturb the people next door in the middle of the night.

Live in the moment

I know it’s not as fun as the traditional night-outs we typically do, but it can totally help us to de-stress after that all-day-long zoom meetings and loads of tasks we needed to accomplish. So quit sulking, stop worrying, and live in the moment because this too shall pass! Have a fun yet safe drinking!
