Pandemic anxiety is taking toll on many people in the world right now. Dealing with uncertainty has never been easy, we all do have ourselves to look after us and find a way to divert our dark thoughts into the simpler and light mood—thanks to social media applications for somehow keeping us sane this pandemic period.

Tiktok has been playing a ‘vital role’ for many of us today. Funny as it may seem, the home isolation made some users do it—they have been catching on the craze and in a sense, it serves as another companion to many. Truly not just an app but merely an everyday ‘playmate’.

The form of entertainment that Tiktok has been giving to us until now is undeniable. The superficial vibe on it has made our kababayan forget the health crisis for a little while. This immensely popular app which gained  500 million monthly users worldwide and downloaded from the Google Play store over 1 billion times, paved the way for some Pinoy social media users to stardom.

MACOY DUBS

One of the most-watched Social media personalities today, Mark Averilla, also known as “Macoy Dubs,” is breaking boundaries to stardom.

 

 

He gained recognition in 2018 following his viral “Mean Girls” Filipino dub which has since spawned memes and famous expressions like “Ganda ka?”

 

 

 

Averilla is known to collaborate with brands on social media campaigns, being someone who works in the advertising industry. He shares most of his collaborations on his Facebook page where his fans and supporters can view the campaigns.

Richo Bautista or popularly known in his already-iconic line “Walang ganun mars!” has been making our homes sane and light with his viral “kapit-bahay serye” where he plays both Mars, a woman who always confronts her neighbour, Aling Nena over neighborly troubles.

 

 

But did you know that the creator of all these funny videos is a public school teacher in General Mariano Alvarez, Cavite?

Pharmacist by profession, Marvin Ramirez, aka Marvin Fojas, has recently found fame online through Tiktok.

 

 

Rojas has evidently shown his love for content creation through her Tiktok series which captured the hearts of Pinoy fans.

He does skits about common classroom scenarios and became much known for his "Luh" catchphrase.

 

 

 

He also created the "Bhie" TikTok series, where he plays two young girls who call each other “Bhie” as an endearment but aren't genuine and sincere with their friendship.

 

 

MS. EVERYTHING

Of course, there she is! Who among you here doesn’t love Ericka Camata better known as Ms. Everything? She’s been making our lives funnier for all of her Tiktok videos since the beginning of pandemic lockdown.

 

 

With her spontaneous comedic punch lines and humor, she made waves on social media by posting her DIY Tiktok videos of some of the famous clips on the app including Anne Marie’s 2002.

No doubt, her infectious optimism helped our kababayan to keep sane in this uncertain period.

With his lovely dance videos in Tiktok, DJ Loonyo or Rhemuel Lunio in real life has won the hearts of his Millennials and Gen Z fans by his several dance covers 

 

 

Aside from his good looks and undeniable talent which swooned by many, He has created a new form of entertainment through dancing.

DJ Loonyo has been utilizing his ‘accidental’ breakthrough to support medical frontliners and some crucial causes.
