Manila Mayor Isko Moreno says, “Walang pasok online or face to face classes in all level para magka- health break naman” on an interview as the number of COVID-19 cases in the city is increasing. Suspension of classes will run from January 14 to January 21, 2022.
Before the Manila mayor announces a city wide class suspension in all levels, some universities declare academic health break already. Here are some:
De La Salle University

With much consideration, the Department of Education (DepEd) also declares suspension of classes in CALABARZON from January 17 to January 29, 2021. All levels both private and public schools; face to face and online classes.
Meanwhile, the president of University of the East (UE) Pres. Dr. Ester Garcia opposes this declaration from Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. She said that mayors don’t have authority to cancel classes at tertiary levels.
Immediately, the mayor released a Show Cause Order against the UE president.
This is an on-going story.
