Yes, his dream of reaching the skies is not yet really over!
The reporter-turned-pilot Steve Dailisan is all set to take off with a new airline company after dealing with the heartbreak of losing his ultimate dream job as a pilot due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On August 16, Dailisan shared the good news on his Instagram account about his newfound beginnings in one of the country’s top airline companies, AirAsia as the newest public affairs manager.
He posted photos of himself wearing an AirAsia jacket, as well as one in a suit.
“A few months ago, I thought it was the end of my much-loved aviation career. Tears were shed and so the vision turned blurry,” the post reads.
After bidding his goodbye as a commercial pilot. He told everyone that he started farming out his resume even before the pandemic. He also had thoughts of going back to broadcast journalism, government service, and academe before landing a new opportunity to practice his corporate communication skills.
As he experienced already what it feels like to lose a job amid the pandemic, Dailisan told everyone who has lost anything precious during this difficult time to hang in there, he firmly believed that everyone will definitely find our way back.
He reminded others to just keep on praying and believing for a new opportunity along the way.
“Today, I am RED-y for yet another challenging role --- to be with you, and empathize with you, our flying public. I am more than RED-y to provide you relevant information to ensure your safety, comfort, and #Allstar experience amid this pandemic,” he said.
In February 2018, Steve Dailisan left broadcast journalism to pursue flying, and eight months after resigning, he achieved his ultimate dream of becoming a pilot.
