Pop superstar Lady Gaga is offering a $500,000 reward for the return of her French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav that were stolen in a violent confrontation in Los Angeles, a source familiar with the matter said on Thursday, after reports that her dog walker was shot.

Gaga, who was in Rome filming her upcoming movie “Gucci” when her dogs were stolen at 9:40 Thursday night, has not commented personally on the theft. However, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that the two French Bulldogs were stolen at gunpoint from a 30-year-old man on Sierra Bonita Avenue in Hollywood. While her third dog, Asia, ran away from the altercation and was retrieved by Gaga’s bodyguard. The dog walker was hospitalized, but is in stable condition.

The Los Angeles police confirmed to BBC that the dog walker was brought to the hospital.

Two representatives for the Oscar and Grammy award receiver also said that Gaga is offering $500,000 for the safe return of her two bulldogs. According to them, Gaga “is offering half-a-million dollars to anyone who has her 2 dogs, no questions asked,” and encourage “anyone who has the dogs can use this email - Kojiandgustav@gmail.com - to retrieve the reward.”

According to the US News, the incident is the latest of several violent thefts of French bulldogs in the United States in recent months.

“In January, a woman in San Francisco was attacked by thieves brandishing a gun who stole her French Bulldog puppy. In October, a North Carolina breeder was held at gunpoint by thieves who made off with five puppies,” the report said.

Gaga has three French bulldogs, Koji and Gustav, and Asia. Asia was the first of the three she got, in April 2014 when her ex-fiance Taylor Kinney surprised her with the puppy. The next year, she also adopted Asia’s brother, Koji. Next came Gustav in November of 2016. Asia has an Instagram account that hasn’t been updated since March of last year.
