The California Gurls singer Katy Perry randomly hinted a possible collaboration with Grammy winner Taylor Swift in a new episode of the talent show American Idol.
The recent American Idol episode was all about duets, and that probably made Perry into thinking about the project possibilities of working with her fellow pop-music icon.
After a spectacular duet of contestants Althea Grace and Camille Lamb, who stunned with a cover of Lesley Gore's iconic classic "You Don't Own Me," Perry informed both singers that they would be moving on to the next round. She even said, "That's what queens do."
After the two left the stage, Perry — seemingly occupied of nothing other than the performance she just saw — posed a hypothetical question to fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie.
"Can you imagine if Taylor and I work together, what we could do?" Perry asked, as judge Bryan nodded at the possibilities.
Of course, the netizens couldn’t help it but get more excited about the possible project of the two pop superstars, they took to Twitter to express their excitement.
The tease has particularly made it more exciting for fans considering how Katy and Taylor have been reestablishing their friendship after burying the hatchet following a years-long feud. The two pop icons had quietly yet famously been at odds for quite some time until Perry reached out with an olive branch, and then later even appeared in the music video for Swift's "You Need to Calm Down." Swift also sent flowers to Perry on the day of her child's birth.
