In today’s time of social media, John Denver Trending is the film that we all social media users need to watch.

John Denver Trending will give you two emotions, anger, and sadness.

Anger, in a way that this movie is an utter reflection of today’s society, that most of us social media users are still irresponsible with all of our actions in social media, we are not aware of the consequences that might happen with just ‘one-click’.

Sadness, because this is a reality, this is what is currently happening, that someone is getting bullied, and we are the bully, yet we are all busy sharing, believing to anything that we see and read online.

John Denver Trending teaches us that we all should be aware that there are many possible consequences that could happen with every action we make in social media.

This movie also makes us realize to do fact-check first before believing to anything that we see online.

The cast of the main characters which are John Denver Cabungcal and his mother, Marites Cabungcal played the role well for me.

Jansen Magpusao who played the role of John Denver portrayed his role well. The tone of his Ilonggo accent worked well and made me convinced that the story was really happening reflects realism. Jansen Magpusao even won as Best Actor for this film in Cinemalaya 2019.

Meryll Soriano, who had proven enough her acting skills by winning several best actress awards, also portrayed as the Mother of John Denver astonishingly. She utterly gave justice to the role of the mother who would do anything to save his son’s reputation and dignity.

John Denver Trending wins Best Film for Cinemalaya 2019 for his first full-length film.
