Good Guy Lee Min Ho Makes Waves in the PH with SMDC
By Press Release 18 Oct 2023 1183

Filipino fans experienced a wave of Hallyu fever as the “Good Guy” ambassador and South Korean actor, Lee Min Ho, visited the PH after seven years. Known for his exceptional acting talent and undeniable charisma, Lee Min Ho has taken the world by storm with his remarkable roles in hit Korean dramas like "Boys Over Flowers," "City Hunter," and "Legend of the Blue Sea." This time, he arrives in the Philippines not just as an actor but as the current ambassador for SMDClargest and fastest-growing real estate developer in the country.

Prior to the main event, Lee Min-ho held a press conference at the Conrad Manila, where he discussed various aspects of his life, career, and shared interesting insights into his personal world.

Min-ho shared what he missed the most in the country, “Whenever I arrive here in the Philippines, though it's such a short period, I always receive a lot of energy from the Filipino fans that's why I missed this a lot. And ever since my arrival last night by the airport, as soon as I came down from the airplane, a lot of people were waiting for me, there were a lot of fans waiting for me outside the airport too. It was such a shame that I wasn't able to meet them personally and greet them personally, but being able to see them, I was very happy. I missed it a lot” and he added, “Tonight after our show, I'm planning to try some lechon.”

The actor also mentioned that he’s surprised that there’s still people who call him “Gu-Jun Pyo” after more than a decade since his hit drama “Boys Over Flowers” was aired in the PH. With that being said, he conveyed “I would always try my best for me to be able to create different projects that can also last for years and decades that people can remember.”

He has managed to not only sustain but thrive in his acting career for over a decade, “I think the secret to my longevity is first, the ability for those who are waiting for me.” Another core aspect that Lee Minho believes has contributed to his long-lasting success is staying true to himself. "And also, whenever I do another project, I do not set a new separate goal, specific objective that I want to achieve, I always try to show my true self and do my best on these projects," he emphasized. "I think that helps me a lot."

When asked about the first thing he wanted to do in the Philippines, he expressed his desire to embark on an adventure to discover the country's hidden treasures, "Despite that, I would really love to go on vacation to a very quiet island. I wanna go to islands like Cebu, which is very well-known and very quiet but I would love to go to a secret island and spend time. I think it would be really fun to camp also. If anyone can tell me about these secret islands in secret, I would be very grateful,” he beamed.

The actor also revealed that next year, there will be a second season for “Pachinko,” along with an upcoming K-drama. “We spent so much time that is best for us to create these wonderful projects so I hope everyone can be excited for these too,” Lee Minho remarked during the press conference.

Our “Good Guy” also offered a heartfelt glimpse into his dedication to charity work, “I think I’m very interested in supporting children. Of course they are our next generation and it is very important for us to support our current youth that are really striving and going through a lot.” In an industry often characterized by glamour and fame, Lee Minho's sincere commitment to his advocacy is a testament to his character and the genuine desire to use his influence for the greater good, “We must also think about our children who will continue the next generation. That is why me, in my own capabilities, in my own limits, try my best to help children and support them as much as I can,” he added.

In his final message to his dedicated fans during the press conference, Lee Minho expressed his heartfelt gratitude, saying, "Thank you so much for the warm welcome despite so many years having passed, and through this SMDC, we got this opportunity to meet each other. I hope through future projects as well through SMDC, we will get to meet more often. I hope everyone can continuously support and love SMDC. Thank you, I love you. Mahal kita." Lee Minho's words resonated with appreciation for the unwavering support of his fans and the newfound opportunity to connect through SMDC. His genuine appreciation for his fans were palpable, leaving a lasting impression of his deep bond with those who have stood by him throughout the years.
