“Magic Mirror on the wall, who’s the fairest of them all?” The best answer for that iconic Disney movie quote is none other than the Wonder Woman herself, ‘Gal Gadot’.

According to a source related to the Disney’s upcoming project confirmed to Variety, Gal Gadot is in final negotiations to portray the Evil Queen in Disney’s upcoming live-action adaptation of “Snow White,” the one that started it all for the studio’s legendary production of animated features. Rachel Zegler is set to play the titular character, with Marc Webb, who is best known for directing the “The Amazing Spider-Man” films starring Andrew Garfield and “500 Days of Summer,” directing and Marc Platt producing. Production is expected to start in 2022.

The original ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’ cartoon, was released in 1938. It was Disney’s very first animated feature and brought the studio to its global stardom. According to insiders, the live-action film will expand upon the story and music from the original. Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, the Oscar- and Tony-winning duo behind La La Land, The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen, is reported to write new songs for the movie.

Disney has been in the works for the live-action of “Snow White” since 2016. Other remakes currently being developed include “The Little Mermaid” starring Halle Bailey, “Pinocchio” with Tom Hanks and “Lilo and Stitch” directed by Jon M. Chu.

“Snow White” follows an orphaned princess living with her Evil Queen stepmother who attempts to poison her. With the help of seven dwarfs, Snow White escapes the queen and eventually finds love, living happily ever after.
