Miss Universe Organization found its new owner as the Chief Executive Officer of JKN Global Group, Anne Jakapong Jakrajutatip announced its acquisition of the said pageant for the sum of $20 million dollars from Endeavor's IMG.
Former US president Donald Trump claimed the ownership of MUO from 1996 until it was bought by Endeavor’s IMG in 2015.
In a statement, Anne said that they were deeply honored for the acquisition of the organization as this will be a strong strategic addition to their portfolio.

The global reach of the Organization, its relationships with global partners and brands, and its wealth of content, licensing, and merchandising opportunities make this a strong, strategic addition to our portfolio. We seek not only to continue its legacy of providing a platform to passionate individuals from diverse backgrounds, cultures, and traditions, but also to evolve the brand for the next generation.”
Mark Shapiro, the president of Endeavor said that he is proud of the expansion of the Miss Universe and the organizations' becoming more inclusive and a powerful platform for women.
Anne is a transgender business tycoon, transgender rights advocates and a known celebrity in Thailand who starred on local versions of the reality shows Shark Tand and the Project Runway. Running for 71 long years, Anne made history as the first ever owner.
For a pageant loving country, the Miss Universe is considered to be the pioneer, awaited and most talked about search for a beauty queen in the Philippines. The 71st edition will be held in New Orleans in Louisiana, USA in January 2023. Filipino-Italian Celeste Cortesi will be the country's representative for the fifth crown.
