On Wednesday morning, online users and fans were horrified and freaked out after Hollywood rapper Marshal “Eminem” Mathers trended across the internet with a hashtag #RIPEminem.
The hashtag started to amplify online after one Twitter user @LEVICUMSOCK—whose account has already been suspended, tweeted "I have killed Eminem". But fear no more, as the 47-year-old rapper is reported safe and well, and the trend was just a simple online hoax.
Despite that, Twitter has turned into chaos as the hashtag exploded, prompting the concerned fans to worry that the musician’s demise has actually happened.
The iconic rapper has just celebrated 12 years of staying sober after his complicated history with drugs, which almost killed him. The musician posted on Twitter earlier this year with a photo chip he received for his sobriety.
Eminem admitted that his addiction from 2002 to 2008 to prescription drugs such as Vicodin, Xanax and Valium were too much that caused his organs to begin shutting down.
The grammy-award winner also suffered a “near-fatal” methadone overdose in 2007, where doctors said he was "about two hours away from dying".
That's when the rap legend made his decision to come clean until now.
