On March 23, the Department of Education announced that early registration in public schools for the academic year 2022-2023 will start on March 25 until April 30.
The month-long registration encourages elementary and highschool students to cooperate which “allows the Department to make necessary preparations and adjustment of plans for the incoming school year,” DepEd said in a memorandum dated March 21.
The pre-registration will include the students from incoming Kindergarten, Grades 1,7 and 11 while learners from Grades 2 to 6, Grades 8 to 10 and 12 are considered pre-registered.
“Private schools are encouraged to conduct their respective early registration activities on the same timeframe,” DepEd Secretary Leonor Briones added.
The early registration event will only allow in-person registration through parents or guardians of the students in low-risk areas. This includes COVID-19 Alert Levels 1 and 2 while in areas under Alert Levels 3 to 5 the registration will be done remotely.
There is still no exact date for the start of the academic year 2022-2023, and yet to be announced by DepEd.
