DepEd raised green light for full face-to-face classes
By Norman Adriano 02 Nov 2022 682

The Covid-19 pandemic has brought a lot of major and drastic changes in the country including in the education sector. For more than two years, class setups have been limited and restricted through online and modular learning.

On November 2, traditional five days of face-to-face classes resumed according to the order through the Department of Education  Order 34, s. 2022 made by the Vice President and current Secretary of Department of Education, Sara Duterte.

In an interview with Vice President Duterte last October 27, she said that the implementation of the mandatory in-person classes will push through today, November 2.

“We already issued the department order last August for the school calendar for the school year 2022-2023 and then we issued the amendatory department order to supplement our initial department order with regard to the mandatory in-person classes beginning Nov. 2.”

DepEd also emphasizes the optional or voluntary use of face masks inside the premises of public schools.

“Schools may immediately implement optional masking indoors pursuant to EO [Executive Order] 7,” according to DepEd spokesperson Atty. Michael Tan Poa.
