Oops, BTS fans didn’t like it at all Mr. Cayetano!
On Wednesday, January 13, ousted House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano trends on Twitter Philippines for an obvious attempt to ride on the popularity of South Korean boy band BTS.
Three months after Cayetano’s ‘congress drama with House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco, he announced his comeback together with 6 allies and the launching of their own “independent majority” bloc on January 14, 2020.
They’re calling themselves, “BTS sa Kongreso”—well basically, to make waves amongst colleagues and staging a comeback where in a sense, they are using the famous boy group’s fame to catch attention.
The newly-announced bloc will have 7 members just like the BTS who all of them lost their posts for supporting Cayetano.
Apart from Cayetano, the remaining 6 “BTS sa Kongreso” members include:
- Luis Raymund “LRay” Villafuerte Jr, Camarines Sur 2nd District
- Dan Fernandez, Laguna 1st District
- Raneo Abu, Batangas 2nd District
- Mike Defensor, Anakalusugan
- Jose Antonio Sy-Alvarado, Bulacan 1st District
- Fredenil Castro, Capiz 2nd District
BTS’s ARMY fandom who’s known to be vocal on social media expressed rage and disappointment over Cayetano’s “papansin” act.
Are you excited about what’s the “BTS sa Kongreso in store for us this year? You all better watch out!
