After more than 17 years of being the frontman, Kean Cipriano called it quits after disengaging himself from the popular OPM pop rock band Callalily. In an interview by the entertainment website PUSH on Thursday, June 23, the musician-actor revealed that he is no longer part of the group when asked if his former group mates are part of his music record company. 

"Callalily is done. I’m moving on, I’ve moved on, moving forward and I wish them all the best,” he said.

"I think in a group na magkakasama for 17 years, marami na rin nangyari and medyo matagal na rin kaming hindi okay, so alam mo ‘yun parang ibang chapter for us,” he added. 

Kean and his wife Kapuso actress Chynna Ortaleza established their music label O/C Records in 2018. They both are the CEO and vice president respectively of the company. In an interview with GMA News, Chynna said that the main reason why his husband left is to further his creative freedom and growth. 

"He feels like there's a new kind of creativity being asked of at the moment. Of course, he feels grateful na 17 years na siyang naa-appreciate for the hits of Callalily but at the same time, he feels like there’s much more to musicality that he  can explore.” 

The remaining group members already changed their official name to LILY Music ' and are currently on the lookout for a new frontman in replacement of Kean's previous position.

"I hope they find it, kung sino man. I mean you know I wish them really all the best ‘di ba. Like I said, Callalily is done and kung ano man 'yung gusto nilang gawin. I mean, ’yun naman talaga ang point nito ‘di ba na in 10 years babalikan naming lahat at magpapasalamat kami sa isa’t-isa and that was a good call, di ba? Yung growth natin, iba na siya ngayon. I really wish them well,” Kean told PUSH. 

A cryptic caption was posted after the new group changed their name, “Magsimula nalang ulit sa simula dahil naagaw ka niya.”

Chynna revealed that Callalily stays under Kean’s property. 

“He did decide to leave the set-up of being in a band. However, Callalily kasi was always under his intellectual property. The brand stays with him.”

Moreover, on their Facebook, LILY Music posted a photo of the remaining group members  together with the caption, “Pag kumanta ba kami ng ‘Magbalik’ babalik ka?.”

They also posted a message for their solid fans,

“Salamat sa suporta ninyong lahat. We are here to stay and we will still bring to you the songs that made OUR childhood. Tuloy tuloy lang kami and tuloy tuloy lang namin ibabahagi ang kwento namin. See you soon guys. Mahal namin kayo :)- Lem, Aaron, Alden, Nates.”

Callalily is best known for their hit 'Magbalik', 'Pansamantala', 'Pasan' and 'Ako'y Babalik'.
