It's official! BTS Kim Nam-joon, widely known as RM is gearing up to drop his solo album this year. RM, who is the rapper and leader of South Korea's popular boy band, is the third among the group members to release a single this year following J-Hope's 'Jack in the Box' last July 15 and Jin's recently released 'The Astronaut' in October 28 collaborated with Coldplay.
RM previously released 2 mixtapes, RM and Mono. His upcoming 'Indigo' album will officially be his debut solo album. BigHit Music, released a statement regarding the latest news for the ARMY.
"We are excited to announce that RM, the leader of BTS, is preparing
to release his first official solo album.
RM has already given fans an honest look into his world through two Mixtapes. Through Indigo, RM delivers his candid thoughts and feelings and showcases a wide-ranging music through collaborations with various artists. We hope everyone’s excited about RM’s latest release," they said.
Following the announcement made by the agency, RM also penned a message for his fans and supporters saying that he has been working on this project for the past years which will be totally different from his past albums. He also put a hint that there will be collaborations from people close to him.
“Hello, Finally My 1st album will be releasing, thanks to everyone. I worked hard on it for the past 4 years. The image is a mood cut, not the jacket cover. It will be very different from my past projects, and a lot of fun friends are gathered in it. Please wish me well until December 2," Namjoon said.
Pre-orders will be on November 15, 2022 at 11 am KST.
Indigo album will be released on Dec 2, 2022 at 2pm KST.
