By AJ Virtuz 12 Jul 2020 1032

Kpop all-male group BTS once again made history and broke another achievement as their single Black Swan now holds the record for most iTunes #1’s in history by a group, surpassing a 5-year record held by Adele with ‘Hello.’ Thanks to the Army!

The Korean male group released their track “Black Swan” as a pre-release single for their mini album “Map of the Soul: 7” on January 17 this year, and followed by a stunning music video which now has more than 123,000,000 views.

Watch the music video here:

Black Swan topped realtime charts in South Korea and also debuted at number 57 on Billboard Hot 100, and even swept iTunes Top Songs charts as the track peaked number 1 in 93 regions in January 18.

And on July 6, 2020, Black Swan hit number 1 on iTunes Top Songs chart in Cape Verde and Forbes, making it the 103rd country where the track has topped. So far, this was the highest number one iTunes number 1, which beat Adele’s chart-topping single ‘Hello,’ which topped 102 regions for five years.

Also, it was just yesterday, July 9, 2020, when BTS member V, just beat his own group’s record as his single “Sweet Night” reached number 1 on 105 iTunes Top Songs charts.

BTS also broke The Beatles’ 22-year record for most number 1 albums on the Billboard 200 chart within a year, Michael Jackson’s 36-year record of being the only foreign artist to top the Oricon’s mid-year album chart.

BTS, who is also known as Bangtan Boys or Bangtan Sonyeondan  is a band from South Korea that is made up of seven  members named Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Rap Monster, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. The group debuted in 2013 but was training with Big Hit Entertainment for several years prior to their first album being released.

As to date, BTS has received more than 330 awards since the kpop male group has debuted.

Congratulations, BTS and Armys!
