K-pop boy band BTS', also known as Bangtan Boys’ new single "Life Goes On" debuted number 1 in the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart this week, as Billboard released this week’s Hot 100 top 10, Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
The song is the group’s third Hot 100 No. 1, in just a span of three months, after "Dynamite" and "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat) with Jason Derulo and Jawsh 685.
"Life Goes On" is also the first Hot 100 No. 1 in the chart's 62-year history sung in different language.

In addition to Bangtan Boys’ achievement this year, the 7-member boy group join American singer Taylor Swift as the only acts in history to simultaneously debut a #1 album and #1 single on the Hot 100 & Billboard 200.
Also, BTS together with Ariana Grande, are the only artists of 2020 to achieve three #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100.
BTS places two songs inside the Top 3 of the Billboard Hot 100 this week, with Life Goes On, and Dynamite, which also peaked at number 1.
BTS’ fifth new album “BE” hit number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album, which was released Entertainment on Nov. 20 under South Korean agency Big Hit Entertainment, arrived with 242,000 equivalent album units earned in the U.S. in its first week, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. BE is the second chart-topper of 2020 for the pop group, following Map of the Soul: 7, which debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated March 7.
