Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo and BTS' "Savage Love (Laxed – Siren Beat)" blasted to number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart from No. 8, with the huge help of the new remixes that featured BTS, released at the start of the chart’s survey tracking week.
There’s no denying that BTS is now a certified global K-pop phenomenon for continuously breaking records — as the boy band is now the first Korean act to have two songs peaked at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the history.
The song is also Jason Derulo’s 2nd no. 1 and Jawsh 685’s 1st.
According to Billboard, “Savage Love" already gained 16 million U.S. streams (up 32%) and sold 76,000 downloads (up 814%) in the week ending October 8, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. It also tallied 70.6 million radio airplay audience impressions (down 2%) in the week ending Oct. 11.
The song jumped 5-2 on the Digital Song Sales chart, descended 4-5 on Radio Songs and rose from 20 to 14 on Streaming Songs, while claiming top “Sales and Streaming Gainer” honors on the Hot 100.
There’s more:
Jawsh 685, Jason Derulo and BTS' "Savage Love” now become the song with the biggest jump to No. 1 this year — surging from 8 to1, "Savage Love" makes the greatest leap to the top of the Hot 100 since The Weeknd's "Heartless" vaulted 32-1 on the chart on Dec. 14, 2019.
Another thing — with "Savage Love" at No. 1 and "Dynamite" at No. 2 on the Hot 100, BTS is now officially the second group to double up in the top two simultaneously since The Black Eyed Peas did so for four weeks in June to July 2009 with "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling."
BTS’s rise to prominence has been so phenomenal over the last few years. As they continue to achieve and break records, BTS is now on their global stardom. Their album Map of the Soul: 7 is considered their ticket to a huge international fandom, with songs written by each of the band’s seven members.
