The Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) donates one million pesos (₱1,000,000.00) to the Philippine Red Cross (PRC), to directly support the ongoing relief operations and recovery efforts for the families affected by devastating earthquakes in Cebu and Davao.
BPCI made a cash donation of PHP 1 million on October 16 at the Philippine Red Cross headquarters in Mandaluyong. The turnover was led by reigning Binibining Pilipinas queens: Binibining Pilipinas International 2025 Katrina Jhonson, and Binibining Pilipinas 2025 1st Runner-up Dahlia Verde-Khattab, together with Binibining Pilipinas 2019 Universe Gazini Ganados, Miss Grand International 2017 2nd runner-up Elizabeth Clenci, Miss International 2023 3rd runner-up Nicole Borromeo, and Binibining Pilipinas International 2024 Myrna Esguerra.
The turnover was also attended by BPCI Trustee and Uniprom Inc. OIC Irene Jose, Binibining Pilipinas Jr. Executive Committee member Pia Ojeda, and Uniprom Inc. director Veana Fores.
In a statement read by Ojeda, BPCI chairperson Stella Marquez Araneta said that along with the donation, BPCI extends its sympathy to all earthquake-stricken areas and calls for more bayanihan.
“The recent earthquakes in Cebu and Davao have not only brought devastation but also called for unity, compassion, and service. In response to this, and with deep concern for the affected communities, we are donating one million pesos to the Philippine Red Cross to support the ongoing relief operations and recovery efforts in the hard-hit areas. This contribution is a gesture of solidarity from the Binibining Pilipinas family. May our visit here inspire more acts of kindness and bayanihan across the nation. Thank you for having us here.”
BPCI's donation aims to support the ongoing relief operations of the PRC in Cebu, securing vital health, welfare, water, and shelter services to aid displaced families from the tragedy.
BPCI has been a consistent and valued partner of the PRC in extending humanitarian efforts and initiatives to areas affected by various tragedies throughout the country. In 2019, BPCI sponsored the Million Volunteer Run 5 to support PRC's network of one million volunteers. In 2020, BPCI partnered with PRC to provide assistance to families affected by the pandemic. In 2021, BPCI and ACI Inc. made a cash donation to PRC to support families affected by Typhoon Odette.
