After the long wait, Arthdal Chronicles will finally return for season 2!

Lee Joon Gi (Flower of Evil) and Shin Se Kyung (Run On) are reportedly to lead the new season of Arthdal Chronicles. Studio Dragon, the drama’s production company, confirmed that they are aiming to start the production this year.

Namoo Actors, Joon Gi’s company, said that this is one of the projects that he is reviewing. As for Se Kyung, EDAM Entertainment also mentioned that the actress has received an offer for the role and is currently reviewing it, however, nothing is confirmed yet.

In season 1, actors Song Joong Ki and Kim Ji Won played the role of the main characters Eun Seom and Tan Ya, however due to conflict of schedule pulled out from the project. There is no confirmation yet if the other characters will be returning for the new season, however, actor Jang Dong Gun will continue to appear as Ta Gon.

Arthdal Chronicles is about the fictional ancient land called Arth where the inhabitants of the ancient city and the nearby regions are trying to achieve power as they build a new society.

Season 2 is reported to be set more than a decade later. Hence if Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung decided to accept the roles, they would portray as the adult versions of Eun Seom and Tan Ya.

Arthdal Chronicles 2 targets to be broadcasted in 2023.
