Apple leaks new iPhone 12 design: Here’s what you need to know
By AJ Virtuz 25 Aug 2020 633

Apple’s newest iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro promise the biggest changes to Apple's flagship phones in years with its several upgrades over the iPhone 11.

The entry-level model is said to be a 5.4-inch iPhone 12, which would be a new size for Apple. There would also be a 6.1-inch iPhone 12, similar to the regular iPhone 11. While with the Pro series of the new iPhone, the iPhone 12 Pro is also expected to come in two sizes—6.1 inches for the iPhone 12 Pro and 6.7 inches for the iPhone 12 Pro Max. The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are 5.8 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively.

The iPhone 12 is reportedly dropping the existing previous designs for an all-new and fresh look, they will also add 5G connectivity across the board, Apple's highly-anticipated A14 Bionic processor and, for the Pro set specifically, LiDAR cameras—a pulsed laser that records the time it takes at ‘nano-second speeds’, for that signal to return to source, enabling it to generate a 3D model with greater accuracy than just a simple camera ever could.

Also, the regular 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 are said to offer two lenses once more, while the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max would have three cameras plus a new Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED) screens on all of its new iPhone 12 handsets. This means that the iPhone 12 doesn't need a big old backlight, because the pixels on its screen light up on their own.

As mentioned, the new iPhone 12 will also feature Apple's new A14 Bionic processor, which offers a MacBook Pro-like. This is reportedly going to be Apple's first 5nm chip, compared to 7nm for the A13 Bionic. This should result in a better performance as well. The A14 Bionic chip, made by TSMC, promises 15% faster performance while using 30% less power.

Another iPhone 12 A14 Bionic leak says that the chip could provide a 40% boost in CPU performance and a 50% increase in GPU performance. So it's going to be a powerful chip that will be released yet.

The new iPhone 12’s launch date is said to be on September 8, 2020, while its release date will be in the month of October, same year.
