From One More Chance in 2008 to A Second Chance in 2015, is ‘A Last Chance’ finally happening this year? Are Bea Alonzo and John Lloyd Cruz reunion in a new movie in the works?
Last Valentine’s day, February 14, 2020, on-screen partner Alonzo and Cruz have surprised their fans when they performed a live script reading of the 2014 hit movie “That Thing Called Tadhana” during the outdoor film screening event of Art Fair Philippines in Makati City.
Fans were thrilled as the two prized actors of ABS-CBN read the lines of Mace and Anthony, Angelica Panganiban and JM de Guzman, with the independent film’s director Antoinette Jadaone as the narrator at Ayala Triangle.
This was the first time that the two reunited in a special project after their last movie, 'A Second Chance' in 2015.
The rumors for the possible new movie spread when the couple was spotted dining together at an Indian restaurant.
The award-winning director Cathy Garcia Molina hinted the fans for a possible big-screen reunion of the two at the Film Development Council (FDCP) Ambassador’s Night held last February 9, 2020.
“Antayin ninyo. ‘Di ko sasabihin,” she said.
The 48-year-old director said she is looking forward to working again with John Lloyd whom she referred to as her “favorite” actor.
She added: “Pangit naman kung ako ang mag-confirm sa inyo, ‘di pa ako allowed.”
Among the John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo films helmed by Cathy Garcia-Molina were “One More Chance” (2007), “Miss You Like Crazy” (2010), and “A Second Chance” (2015).
