A magnitude 6.7 earthquake struck the province of Abra on the evening of October 25. According to Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology or Phivolcs, the earthquake was recorded at 10:59 PM with a depth of 011km with the epicenter at Tineg, Abra. The Department of Health (DOH) confirmed the appointment of retired PNP chief Camilo Cascolan as one of the undersecretaries of the agency on Sunday, October 23.    In a press statement released by DOH, Cascolan will be filling one of the positions alongside several undersecretaries. DOJ Secretary Jesus Crispin 'Boying' Remulla revealed on Thursday that the alleged middleman on veteran broadcaster Percy Lapid murder has died  at the New Bilibid Prison on October 18, coincidentally the same date where Joel Escorial, the surrendered gunman had his press conference.
