New member of the cabinet has been added as outgoing Solicitor General Jose Calida has been chosen by President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. as the chief of Commission on Audit according to incoming press secretary Atty. Trixie Angeles announced on June 29.

Rappler's shut down defended by Senator Risa Hontiveros; Bong Revilla says 'Respect SEC order'
The Securities and Exchange Commission upheld its decision to shut down the online news organization Rappler on June 28 according to its CEO Maria Ressa. Senator Risa Hontiveros and Senator Bong Revilla released their respective statements regarding the issue. The two senators viewed the decision by the SEC differently.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines confirmed that spokesman Colonel Ramon Zagala will be the commander in-charge for the safety and security of incoming President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. Colonel Zagala will serve as the next commander of the Presidential Security Group (PSG), in addition, he will also serve as an acting senior military assistant (SMA).
