Though an official announcement has yet to be made, Col. Zagala has been relieved from his position and his duties as the spokesperson of AFP to prepare as he takes over his new post as PSG. Col. Zagala came from a military family. He is the son of retired Major General Zagala who was then the Army chief from 1972-1975 during the administration of Marcos Sr.

Col. Zagala was commissioned to the AFP on August 9, 1994. He was part of the AFP Special Forces and Airborne before becoming the spokesman.
