After the success of cult hit “Barbarian,” writer-director Zach Cregger set out to do something even more frightening. “I wanted to make something that felt a lot more ambitious,” says Cregger in a new featurette about his latest horror/thriller, “Weapons.”
So Cregger set out to “write something that was just going to be an escalation from everything I did in ‘Barbarian,” he continues. “‘Weapons’ is scarier than ‘Barbarian,’ but it’s also a much more fascinating story.” Aside from writing the story, Cregger also directed, produced and co-composed music for the film.

Cinemalaya 2020 goes digital from August 7 to 16
August is supposedly one of the most-awaiting months for film enthusiasts as people gather at the Cultural Center of the Philippines to witness masterpieces from independent filmmakers and directors.
But, due to the COVID-19 outbreak, for the first time in its 16-year running, the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival will push through online this year, as the country’s biggest independent film festival will be screened on Vimeo— an online video platform.
